A major scandal has erupted within Cameroon’s police force after explicit videos allegedly featuring female police officer Christelle Eboa and other high-ranking female police commissioners were leaked in mid-2025. The sexually explicit tapes, reportedly filmed inside a police commissioner’s office, have caused widespread public outrage and disciplinary action within the force.

According to reports, the leaked footage shows police officer Christelle Eboa engaging in sexual acts with female police commissioners. The videos are believed to have been recorded by a senior police official, Josué Ossomo, at the Central Police Station No. 1. It is alleged the recordings were made inside the commissioner’s office, intensifying the shock over the breach of ethics involved.

Following the leak, the General Delegate for National Security took swift action by suspending three officers connected to the footage: Commissioner Josué Ossomo, Second Grade Police Officer Christelle Eboa, and another unnamed female police commissioner. Commissioner Armand Abena has been appointed as interim regional police delegate to oversee the situation and ensure disciplinary measures.

Cameroon law criminalizes homosexuality, and the implicated women face possible legal penalties including prison sentences ranging from six months to five years. The scandal has reignited public debate on morality, professional conduct, and transparency within state institutions in Cameroon.

Authorities launched an internal investigation to assess the full consequences of the incident and to decide on further sanctions. The investigation aims to clarify the circumstances surrounding the recording and distribution of the explicit material and to restore public confidence in the police force.

This is considered a landmark case in Cameroon due to the involvement of female officers in a same-sex scandal, at a time when LGBTQ+ rights remain severely restricted in the country. Public reaction ranges from condemnation of the officers’ conduct to calls for deeper reflection on privacy, ethics, and institutional responsibility within the national security apparatus.

The scandal continues to draw attention as the government and police hierarchy navigate the legal and social fallout. Further updates are expected as investigations proceed.
